Top 5 London Restaurants
Inevitably from time to time if people know you like food and eating out, you get asked what are your top Restaurants or what are your Top 5 London restaurants.
So the first in series heres London as of April 2013
Tom Pemberton does the St John thing – but just a little bit better (sorry Fergus but he does). I once had an epihany over a bowl of boiled spuds here – yes boiled potatoes, with some butter involvement. Its that good. It was here that I realised how sweetbreads should be cooked and how great they can taste.
The greatest dessert in the world the tipsy cake resides here ….oh and the other stuff aint bad either.
That mackeral, that bread – deft skills and where to go to see cooking at the cutting edge.
Better pan con tomate than that in Spain an atmopshere that restauranteurs probably wish they could bottle and recreate. In short a bar that you never want to leave.
Almost philospohical – simple dishes perfect execution. A total counterpoint to Nobu or Roka.
